Season so far

It has been an amazing season so far. I have been guiding for northsound waterfowl a ton. I have gone on 6 snow goose hunts where the mininum we shot was 20 geese each day. I have also been on 5 fun hunts, where limits of mostly wigeon and mallards have been earned with working birds with the calls pretty hard. I have guided 5 duck hunts and we have had 2 days where we didn't limit but it was due to shooting one day, we still were able to get 11 birds that day mostly mallards and pintails. On that day it was awesome working the flocks of new mallards and pintail, we had a few drop straight down from the ozone and also pulled three flocks of over 75 mallards with hard calling shoestringing them.
Opening day of season a friend of mine and I hunted a little slough on private land right next to one of the most heavily hunted GMU's in washington. Scouting for the field had over two hundred wigeon sitting in it the day before season. We had a nice shoot lasting two hours until we were done. First two ducks of the year for me was a double on a pair of gadwalls which was nice since I just clean missed on two different single wigeon.
Our first snow goose hunt of the year was nice since right at shooting hours we had 7 specklebellies dump in the decoys. We jumped them out and took 6 of the seven.
These were my first specs and now all I need to have harvested all species of geese in Wa is a ross and blue goose.
I will be guiding for ducks on monday, and snow geese on friday. Both should produce since monday will be a good windy day and our snow goose fields were rested all this week and may have just one hunt tomorrow befoer that.

Leaving

I unfortunately have to say goodbye to this waterfowl season and head to Lafayette, LA to make some money. However, its all for good reasons. I look forward to the next season and have recently started a 1/2 dozen storm wigeon made out of HD tan cork and cedar heads, these are almost completely painted and will be a great addition to the spread this upcoming year. I hope to complete another dozen puddlers before 09-10 season hits. It was a great season these past few months and I harvested over 150 birds, with only 3 snow geese, 2 giant canadians, 2 dozen divers including Bluebill, Hooded Merganser, Ringneck, and Ruddy duck. The remainder of these birds were wigeon teal and mallards, with mallards being the Majority. With over 75 mallards harvested this year, I can happily say i once again stuck to my guns by only harvesting hens on incidental circumstances, this year was 3 hens. I did not do my normal sea duck gunning this season for lack of boat but I will be jumping back in the salts when I get home from my deployment I will be picking up a BBSB that will enable me to get to the places I just dream about.

Here are a few pictures

Heres a few pics of some of my gunning days.
